~CaLeB~

The other day, I was just randomly on http://www.showhope.org/, and I saw a link to http://www.calebmusic.com/ and even though I had been on their website a few days before, I just decided to click on it for no apparent reason. Their tour schedule was posted right there on the side of the home page and what do you know? They had just updated it and the next night they're having a show in Wetumpka, AL! That's only a hour from my house!
So of course I went with my dad and brother. They didn't have any new merch, but they did have this really cool new backdrop that was handmade by Caleb's wife Julia, and she did an awesome job!
The opening guy, well, to be completely honest, he was terrible. That's all I shall say.
But then CALEB came out and totally made up for it.They played 9 songs, 7 of which I knew, and the 2 that I didn't were new! They were great! I cannot wait for their new EP!. Will saiid that they were trying to put a whole album together. That would be incredible!
Ok so, Will Chapman is pretty much the best drummer ever. He's crazy good and so fun to watch. I absolutely love his stlye. It's so complex and creative, not just the basic drumming patters. He actually broke two drumsticks and he let my brother have them. :)
We sat on the front row (of course) and I got some great pictures. I'll try and load some on here.
After the show, I talked to Will first and he was all, "Hey! Here's our biggest fan! You knew all the words to our songs." I was screaming on the inside. I just told him that I'm a huge fan and that this was my 3rd CALEB concert; he wanted to know where else I had seen them, so I told them. (Flashback alert)
I first met them at a Casting Crowns show in Birmingham where I was working alongside my dad. My uncle, who is they're boss and works for their dad, told me that I should meet them because they're good friends with my cousins. I told them that and we had a connection; something for them to remember me by.
A few months later, I saw them again at Cinderella, memorial show for their sister who had passed away a few years earlier. My uncle produced the show so I got to miss school for 2 days and be his assistant. I got to hang out with Caleb and Will a little bit and meet their dad. AH! I was an incredible few days that I will never ever forget. I got to meet a ton of Broadway actors along with the Nashville Symphony, an American Idol finalist, and got to see my aunt (Jodi Benson) who I hadn't seen in a very long time.
I told all of this to Caleb as well, not sure if he remembered me though...
Guess what? I got them to sign my converse!!! I know cool right? Will was all, "It would be an honor to sign your Chuck Taylors, especially since they're red." I love these guys...
Anyway, we stayed and hepled them load up the PA system (wich belonged to my uncle) and I got to meet Julia and Emily, Caleb's wife and sister. They are amazing!
I really wanted CALEB's setlist, but they didn't have one, so they gave me one of their dad's! It's ahnging up on my wall with all my other band merch.
Well, that's about wraps up thats night. They are incredible, I absolutely cannot wait to see how big they get one day; and I'll be able to say that I knew them before then. :D

cUpCaKeS aNd rOlLeRcOaStErS :)

So a few weeks ago, I went to a Brandon Heath concert in Chattanooga with a friend and let me just tell you, it was incredible. It was an outside concert, and we got to watch the rehersals. He even let us take pictures! Well, I went to the car with my friend to get something that I made him, and when we got back, he was through rehersing but the man at the gates said that he had come outside looking for us because he wanted to say hi. Brandon Heath wanted to say hi to me. AH! But alas, we missed him, so we had to wait to say hi to him after the concert like everyone else.
But who's to say that's a bad thing? The concert was fantastic! We sat on the front row (of course) and were so close, I seriously could have tied his shoes. He sounded great and played some new songs which were fantastic. He's so amazing, all of his songs have such a cool story and a great message behind them. I absolutely cannot wait until the new record. It's called Out Of Eden and I can already tell you, it's gonna be epic.
After the concert was over, my dad got me the setlist, and I got the band to sign it. I was pretty much freaking out waiting in line to talk to him, but I was able to gain composure when the time came.
This past Christmas, Andrew Peterson did a tour called Behold the Lamb of God, and Brandon Heath was part of it. My mom was the artist chaperone and I got to ride with her to pick up the bands. I sat next to brandon Heath without knowing it, and when he introduced himself, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. He just laughed at me... :) I got to have dinner with all the artists and we had the most interesting conversation. They were telling their greatest fears and pet peeves, and let me just tell you, it was hilarious.
Anyway, back to the concert. Well, I told Brandon all of this in the hopes that he might remember me, and guess what? He did! major :) He said that he wanted to do that tour again this fall and that would be awesome! I got him to sign a bunch of stuff and then got back in line to see him again.
When we got back to the front, my dad asked if we could get a picture with him in front his tour bus and he was like, "Sure! Of course!" My dad really is an experienced concert goer because, just as he predicted, when he got to the bus, Brandon Heath said, "Would you guys like to come have a look inside?" Um, let me think... well... if you insist... YES PLEASE! So we got a tour of Brandon Heath's bus by none other than the man himself. We took more pictures with him, and then he did something totally unexpected. He asked us if we wanted a cupcake. Hence the title, cupcakes and rollercoasters (rollercoasters because it was at a theme park)
I didn't really want one, but come on, Brandon Heath was offering me one so of course, i accepted; and I just have to say, it was delicious. :)

My Blog

This is my first blog. I don't know how often I'll be on here, but I'll try to post frequently. This is mainly a blog about concerts. I love to go to concerts more than anything else, and have decided to blog about my experiences at different ones. So, here goes nothing.
